Recyclable Pod Planters by Pad

6-25-2009pad.jpgWe love the look of these recyclable planters by the LA-based designers Pad. They're made from hand spun aluminum with a powder finish. In other words, after a long, long life, they can be tossed in the recycling with your other cans.

Oh, they're pretty! But it kills us — the price tag really stings. $158.

We'll obviously never buy any of these gorgeous Pod planters, but hopefully some designer will fill the void and offer something equally beautiful and recyclable at an affordable price.

I second the motion. "Green" is stigmatized enough as a wealthy conceit already. I really do like those little planter pods and would buy them -- at a reasonable price. HelloOOooo Pad, are you listening?

Very cool concept. Are you using recycled aluminum to begin with?

And, can we get a lower price on these puppies? I realize it is artistic as well as functional and green, but geez.

We have to have some affordable options out there for the folks who want to green it up but can't afford "designer" pricing.
