Small-Scale Gardening: Woolly Pockets

7-9-2009woollypocket5.jpgBecause we don't have much outdoor space for a garden, we're always inspired by inventive containers. Anything that's attractive and offers us a way to bring a little green inside our home (or celebrate the small amount of sunny space in front of our apartment) is a good thing in our book. That's probably why we're digging these Woolly Pockets...

7-9-2009woollypocket3.jpgWoolly Pockets are soft containers, made in the U.S. from recycled plastic bottles. They're breathable and come in a number of sizes. From super small (the Wee Woolly - $29) to landscape-size (the Woolly Meadow - $247). And they're suitable for indoor or outdoor use.

We know it's a little lot early, but we already know a number of people who will be getting a Woolly Pocket for Christmas this year.

I'm skeptical. You're supposed to water them a dinky amount to keep them from dripping indoors, which is not very good for the plants ... and with distilled water; not very eco unless you harvest rainwater... and there's going to be mold, mildew and moisture collecting between the pocket and the wall if the fabric breathes... I really don't think this is going to work.

Dear god that is so cute - I love their website! I know nothing about gardening, but I know I want one. Or like, 10.
