This question comes from Rachel:
I hate my kitchen…. Please help…
I am getting a thousand bucks back on my tax return and want to use it for my kitchen because I know it CAN look good. I’m thinking about mostly using it to resurface my countertops because I hate everything about them. What would be the best way to go about doing this with about $1,000 (and I want to try and still have money leftover) and using a green material?

We don't have a lot of experience with resurfacing countertops ... However, this is a great resource for green countertop materials. Does anyone have any other ideas for Rachel?

I'm not sure how green this would be...however look up concrete overlay countertops. In most cases you can put a thin layer over existing surfaces for not much money at all with decent results....

The single most important thing you can do to improve that kitchen will not cost you a dime. You will vastly improve the space if you take all the stuff off of the front of the refrigerator. Instant facelift ;)
