apartment therapy changing the world, one room at a time

Tea Time

2007-08-23teacup_clock.jpg

Perhaps this clock will provide you with some themed inspiration for your next clock. Instead of going out and buying something new--even if it's cheap it uses a lot of energy to make something new as opposed to re-using parts--you could salvage parts or purchase them at a flea market to make something inspired for your home.

Danny Seo highlighted this clock over on his blog, but we want to know: what could you do to change it, while still recycling/reusing things, to make it fit into your decor?

My sister in law made one of these! She used big cappacino mugs and actually screwed them to the wall. They were all bright colors so it was really cool looking. I put it up on my Flickr album if you want to see http://www.flickr.com/photos/81538549@N00/1223207458/
It's in progress here, but you get the idea.

Very nice, Beth H! I like the cleanness of mounting the large mugs directly on the wall.

Espresso mugs did pop into my head immediately... for that European look...

I really like these, off Etsy, as a similar idea:

...although they are not fully made out of recycables.

I have always liked the idea behind Design Without Reach's lollipop clock:

(cute and made from a recycled object and a biodegr set of objects).
