This amazing home in Venice, California was designed by Pugh + Scarpa Architects. The architects upgraded the 1953 home with photovoltaic solar panels that provide 100% of the home's power! Featuring solar hydronic heating panels, a storm-water recycling system, and environmentally friendly materials inside and outside the home, the heat-retaining concrete and glazed overhangs and windows allow for cross ventilation, so the house is able to regulate its own temperature. Radiant in-floor heating (powered by one of three solar hot-water panels) increases the temperature when the weather gets cooler. Awesome. See more photos below the jump...

Very nice! I really like the exterior the most. I probably wouldn't be able depend on solar panels here in the Seattle area. I'd love to see more articles on green building, keep them coming. thx!
