We caught a sneak peek of artist Ann Wood's home over at Design*Sponge today, and loved the drape she's fashioned around her bed. Ann's work is often made with vintage or salvaged materials, and this curtain is no exception. It's fashioned from deconstructed antique lace garments pieced onto the linen backdrop. Truly lovely. Strangely beautiful. Reminds me of Miss Haversham's bed in Great Expectations.

Oh....these curtains are so very beautiful.
Thanks Amy A for posting the links. The ships took my breath away! It's hard to design a ship with sails looking as though they are really floating in air. This artist managed to do just that. Wonderful.

Somebody pleeeeease tell me how those drapes were put up to hang from the ceiling. I'm also putting up drapery as a room divider in my studio but the only hardware solution I can find are for hospital ceiling curtains. IKEA's solutions are too short and the wire system droops too much.

you could use the regular drapery rods and just purchase some U shaped holders from home depot or lowes... that way they hang evenly.

the super talented ann wood was sweet enough to share a special diy project with us, but now she’s back with an incredible sneak peek into her brooklyn home/studio near prospect park. ann typically works with vintage or salvaged materials for her work, describing the certain tenderness in the re-use and re-purposing of things that were once personal and perhaps treasured possessions. funny how the same can definitely be said for her home as well. i don’t know how you all feel, but to me, this peek into her home feels like a look into a mythical dream world (complete with castle!)
