We know, we know. Hearing "burlap" and "green style" might make some of you want to crawl into a dark hole. Just when people begin to realize that eco-friendly decorating is not all burlap and tree stumps, we ...come back to burlap. But it might be okay this time around. There are some pretty cool things being done with the fabric, and it does give off an earthy, informal vibe which can work in the right setting...

i love burlap. especially the headboard. it's so raw and earthy. i put burlap curtains in a little boys "cowboy" bedroom and tied them with rope like the picture above. it really finished the room.

I love the look of burlap, but there's NO WAY I would ever use it for uphostry or pillows; it's way to scratchy and uncomfortable.

I am doing a burlap cornice in a kitchen this week. Can't wait to see how it turns out.
