This beautiful home in Melbourne has a kitchen designed around reclaimed science benches! The rest of the house is a tribute to sustainable building methods and the use of mainly reclaimed materials. (See Photo 4, where the double doors are made recycled floorboards!)

I hope they were well decontaminated. I worked in a lab where we had beautiful teak benches. About 40 years on, renovation was needed and the benches had to be specially disposed of for fear of someone trying to reclaim their wood which had been determined to be beyond decontamination.
I do admire the look! A dream of mine is to kit my own kitchen out with volumetric glassware and separatory funnels. I just can't get away from science!
