We met architect Matt Baran in an earlier post. Now here's a tour of the house he's building in West Oakland, California. It's designed to take advantage of the California climate... and to require a minimum of maintenance over time.
Green Tour: Green By Design in West Oakland, Part I
We like Matt's project for its clean, contemporary design, for its practical aspects (sure, it's green, but who wants to spend time and money on maintenance?), and for his budget-conscious approach to building. The construction is just getting underway, and we'll be following the project through its completion, so stay tuned for updates.
