The Harbinger is 1,700 sq-ft of pure illusion. Step inside and you'll be hard pressed to detect any shred of evidence pointing to the home's past life -- 5 containers sailing across the high seas on the back of some gigantic ship, holding ... what? Dishwashers maybe?

The Harbinger was hauled into the showroom at the San Jose Convention center in pieces and, less than 5 hours later, it was a house. Then, green interior designer Zem Joaquin (of ecofabulous) got to work, filling the home with some of the latest eco products and furniture.
It's a charming space -- bright, open, and, thanks to a million details, very green. From the lighting to the flooring to the landscaping, the Harbinger doesn't seem to miss a single opportunity to save on energy and resources.

Too bad the slideshow focused on the decorating and the finishes (and some decorating choices were really dumb - like the tiny bull's-eye mirrors in one bathroom)
I couldn't get a feel for the spaces, the construction or the flow of the house at all.

I sure hope all the plants in this GREEN house, especially that giant tropical plant in the living room, are in fact real.
