Take Cooler Showers at Planet Green also reminds us that cooler showers are better for your skin. Scalding hot water can dry out your skin and leave it itchy. Those two reasons alone are enough to make us turn down our thermostats. Via: Treehugger.

Hot showers are my only vice. I will do anything but give up my shower.

Nothing puts me in a worse mood in the morning than a cold shower.

Nothing puts me in a worse mood than a cold shower that runs out when you have shampoo in your hair...now in your eyes as you try to figure out what the BLANK happened to the water! This happened a few times in NYC....
Now, I live with my cats only, so thankfully, I haven't had this problem. I keep the water temp low so I don't have to turn on the cold to mix with it and when I am going to use the dishwasher, I turn it up so the dishes get clean and then I turn it back down again.

I don't have a heater in my bathroom. So when I wake up in the morning and it's 30 degrees outside walking from a warm bedroom into an ice cold bathroom to shower is not a pleasant feeling - therefore I enjoy my hot showers to keep me warm in the bathroom.
