Hot or Not: Local River by Mathieu Lehanneur

Local River is an indoor vegetable garden and a freshwater fish home storage unit all in one. From the press release: "In this scenario, fish and greens cohabit for a short time in a home storage unit before being eaten by their keepers, the end-players in an exchange cycle within a controlled ecosystem."

"Eaten by their keepers" I love that. Is this for real? It looks and sounds like something out of 2001 space odyssey.

"for a short time"... like until the fish/veggies die becuase no one knows how to care for this ecosystem?

mh330 yes, and then it's a piece of plastic landfill. If one was seriously interested in this type of thing I would actually suggest studying Permaculture. As far as I understand it, Permaculture is largely about creating complete systems - natural ones.

Actually, it's all glass - and I think these are meant primarily as art installations, not retail objects (if I read the info in the link correctly)
