I would feel better about this idea if it was made of recycled plastic, otherwise it seems like you are just contributing to wastefulness by buying more unnecessary plastic crap. I do reuse some of my dishwater for watering my plants, but I just scoop it out of the sink with a pitcher. You could also undo the plumbing under the sink and have it drain into a large bucket, but you would have to be very careful to not make a mess.

I'd love this, since I spend a lot of time bailing out the sinks or cluttering up the sink with a smaller container to catch the water. But I don't like that it's plastic, either.

I agree about making it from recycled materials, but mostly it seems unnecessary. I just put a bucket under the faucet when I'm getting the hot water flowing (in the shower in the morning, and in the kitchen sink in the evening); in the morning, the saved water goes into my humidifier and the evening water is used for the garden.

It's a dishpan. I've had one of those for years.

I wish that this was available in the US. I do use a plastic dishpan, and it is very awkward to carry when full of water. Nothing like sloshing graywater down your front when trying to carry a dishpan out the door to water some baby trees...
