A DIY Menorah for Hanukkah
ReadyMade

12-11-2009bottle-menorah-350.jpg How beautiful is this glass bottle Menorah? Well, the good news is it's easy to make: all you need are bottles, spray paint, and some candles.

We love the crisp white of the bottles against the light blue of the candles.

ReadyMade calls it "a mini art installation for your windowsill, dining table, or mantel." We couldn't agree more.

Get all the instructions right here.

Oh goodness, that would the a horrid menorah though- since you can't blow out the candles and have to wait for them to burn down all the way, you'd be waiting up FOREVER. Even with the candles needing to burn longer Friday nights for Shabbat, that's a bit of overkill.

Did you know that they have erected a massive menorah in front of the White House, yet no cross or Christmas decorations are to be seen?

Here's a snippet you may find interesting:

"Every year a huge Menorah is erected and lit on public land in front of the America’s White House. The picture shows the Menorah lit by the radical Jewish supremacist organization called Chabad Lubavitch. It was lit by the prominent Jewish extremist and White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel. In America it has become illegal to put a Christian cross on public ground; no symbol representing any aspect of the Christian religion is allowed. But while crosses are banned from the White House and any public place, huge Jewish Menorahs are going up by the thousands all over the United States as well as in many European countries."
