The person in the video is Ed Bruske, who has written for the Washington Post. He's active in the gardening community in DC, according to his website, DC Urban Gardener News, where he weighs in on growing favas, shelling peas, and mowing with a reel mower.

Thanks for sharing these! I'm also from the DC area and I'm impressed with the amount of space he has for a garden in the city. I'm glad he shared some tricks that work with potted vegetables as well which is what I'm trying to do. I found some useful tips on gardening on Scott Common Sense - http://www.scottcsc.com/Tips.aspx I don't have a green thumb so I can use all the help I can get!
