A draft dodger snuggles up to the bottom of a door or window and blocks out any cold air the might creep in or hot air that might creep out.

You can buy them. Or you can make one. They're very simple to pull together, even if you aren't too handy with a needle and thread. In fact, GreenUpgrader has some super easy instructions for how to make your very own draft dodger.

Thanks for the reminder! I really need to hit my sewing machine tonight to work on this kind of stuff. We are forecasted for snow today and I already started to close off some of the rooms in the house for warmth.

I made cloth draft dodgers for the closet doors that are on exterior walls. I put a tab on the top of my draft dodgers so I could attach them to the door http://condo-blues.blogspot.com/2009/02/make-no-slip-stay-put-door-draft-dodger.html. That way I didn't have to worry about it slipping every time I opend and closed the door
