What makes a great kitchen or bath? As I was preparing to write this post, it was going to be general roundup of beautiful kitchens and baths, but as I was paging through my favorite images I realized all the images had something in common: soothing colors, bright airy spaces and a flood of natural light.

My dream kitchen or bath would have skylights (one right over the tub or shower would be amazing), pale colors and a combination of rustic and modern materials.

I second the comment about skylights! We have one over our tub/shower and it is so pleasant to get ready in the morning without turning on any lights.
