Eco Rentals: Tips from the New York Times

8_26_2008-greenescape.jpgEscapes month may be winding down, but if you're just getting started planning a green getaway, the New York Times has a great article on the transformative effect of a stay where you can reconnect with nature.

The full article is here. A few highlights:

  • Kaweah Cottage, in California's Sierra Foothills, comes complete with an "organic garden where guests can pick fresh arugula, squash and tomatoes."

  • Ecoluxury Lodging has properties in Arizona, Florida, and, soon, Norway.

  • Organic Holidays has a directory of 60 green properties around the world.

A common theme seems to be a library stocked with books on green living—that's a nice upgrade from the dogeared magazines and trashy romance novels we usually find on vacation. (You know, maybe they could keep a few of the trashy novels...)
