We are really loving Yanko Design these days.
So many functional, futuristic, green concepts to drool over ... and this, the water recycling washer and dryer by Reed Crawford, might be our favorite. (Well, at least our favorite this month.)
It's compact and, as Yanko points out, prefect for apartment dwellers.
It also uses the water from a previous rinse cycle for the next wash. Then, when it's done washing, it starts drying.
Considering how often we accidentally leave the wash in the washing machine, soaking wet, overnight, it's actually quite a bit smarter than us.
Of course, it's still just a concept ... but it's an inspiring one.
I tend to forget stuff in the wash too. I'd LOVE this washer!

That's very clever! Water from the rinse cycle is usually fairly clean so it makes sense to use that for the initial wash cycle of the next load (provided you do the next load relatively soon afterwards). I'd like to see more washing machine manufacturers thinking like this.
