Greenland is Melting: Inspiration for Making Your House Greener

July is Green Month at AT. We've all heard about global warming and melting glaciers, but just this week we actually saw Greenland melting (from an airplane). This has inspired us to reevaluate our own impact on the environment. We've now determined to go greener by bringing our own reusable bags to the grocery store, reusing wrapping paper for gifts and using energy efficient fluorescent light bulbs.

We also want use less water, buy environmentally-friendly products, and replace paper goods (napkins, etc.) with cloth.

For larger home projects, the Washington Post recommends putting in wall insulation, rather than replacing windows, to improve energy efficiency.

What are your suggestions for going greener?

Have you had any global warming shockers like our recent Greenland experience?

Adopting a vegan diet is the BIGGEST thing you can do if you really want to live a "green" life. It's not just for animal rights activists anymore, people. It's for those that care about their health and for people who want to stop polluting the land, contributing to erosion, and contributing to environmental damage FAR beyond anything an automobile or plastic bags can do.
