This week was a creepy crawly one here at Re-nest. Readers were really into posts about maggots, ants, and rotten pumpkins -- or, rather, what to do so your pumpkin doesn't rot. All perfect things to discuss around the dinner table (the subject of another favorite post) ...

Last year, summer, I noticed that I had an ant problem in my kitchen. My sister sent me some little baits, but that didn't help much. I decided to do some online research and found that ants follow a scent left by one of their trailblazers. You have to throw their scent trail off so they get disoriented and thus don't return. Ground cinnamon is what I sprinkled all over my baseboards, and lo and behold no more ants. I've not seen one since, and the best part is that cinnamon smells good and is "all natural".
