The only thing we love more than spending a hot summer day laying around at a pool is spending a hot summer day laying around at a lake. More and more, it seems like natural pools are a way to meld those experiences. This pool in particular would be like having a little lake in your own backyard.
Natural, chemical-free pools are pretty uncommon in the U.S. Green Upgrader has an interesting post up explaining exactly why that is. They also list a number of natural alternatives that can keep pools clean.
We know that change is hard — for lifelong pool owners, it must be almost impossible to believe you could have a pool that doesn't require harmful chemicals. But it's true. And if the picture above is any indication of the results, well that would be motivation enough for us to lose the chemicals and look into going au naturale.

Hmmm...wouldnt this be a nice home for bugs, reptiles, and animals though? I've rescued enough of them from my fenced in chlorinated pool this year to make me wary of any more inviting option...

I don't mind frogs, but the shade of green is slightly offputting. It's beautiful. I'm just not sure I would swim in it.
