In our house, somewhere between the end of the Thanksgiving meal and the beginning of the coffee and dessert course, the tinkering begins. Broken toys get fixed, electronics spark to life, gadgets are assembled, shelves are hung. If the collective assembly can't fix it, it's declared done for and can finally get tossed. Which is why we can appreciate the designs of Luca Scarpellini who fashions new objects from old household goods.
Espresso makers, old telephones, used skis and sewing machine trestles all find new life as bright and sculptural clocks, lamps, tables bases and bed frames, fashioned from intense colors, active imagination and a sense of humor. For more information, click here.
