You recycle. You carry a tote bag when you go to the grocery store. You haven't used a plastic water bottle in years. But there's still that one habit that you haven't been able to change...

We'll admit our vice: it's plastic baggies. We've made efforts, of course; we wash them out and reuse them. But you know what? It's time to give them up. We're going to get a green lunch kit.
Fess up! What's your 2009 green resolution?
In 2009 I intend to get my rainwater barrel system working better. (Currently it is quite the contraption, and I have to siphon the water out, which is truly inconvenient)

take more navy showers and not let food go to waste.

I plan to get back to basics. Buy the necessary items, a simpler life will = a more fullfilling life.

Over my life I've been a omnivore, vegetarian, vegan, then back to occas fish/fowl flexitarian and finally a full blown grass fed local beef slow food locavore.
But I feel so much better healthwise, not eating meat, and gasp, I think it is better being a vegetarian for the planet in terms of methane offgassing. I think some people can and should still eat local meat, just treat it like a celebration food; and not mindlessly include in two/three meals a day. And some people feel better if they skip it and eat local grains and beans.

Overall, live simpler. Other little ones;
- flex my cooking skills (more local foods and less waste)
- think more about all purchases
- do more furniture makeovers. Instead of buying the bedside tables I need brand new, I will buy thrifted and fix them up.
My new mantra is "think simple."
