Herring Lamp by Wunderwurks Design

<wund.lamp090508.jpgGlow and behold. We're in the market for a pair of lampshades and stumbled upon this electrifying, 100% recyclable design that’s sure to light up a room…

Herr.detail.090508.jpgThe rubbery material is given a high-end makeover with an intricate, colorful Missoni-style design or in a sophisticated, striated ruby red. While Wunderwurks also makes some brightly hued vases, we love the way the translucent material really pops when it’s used as a lampshade.redlamp090508.jpg

Tony Wurman makes the pieces using non-toxic hot glue heated at a low temperature. In addition, the company uses any scrap material to create sturdy bases for the vessels. Plus, they even seal (and stamp) all shipping boxes with any excess.

The lamp bases we have are curvy and Rococo, so I'm thinking a simple shade might be a better fit, but we can't stop marveling at these eco-wonders!
