This weekend's delightfully warm weather in Boston got us daydreaming about our annual primping session for our back porch. In the past we've used white Christmas lights to add some romance to the porch at night, but the idea of using the sun's power to create some mood lighting holds much more appeal. These lovely solar lanterns are available in 3 styles (more pictures below the jump)...

We spotted these lanterns over at Style Saves the World. The lanterns, which measure 9" x 9", are available in three patterns: Pure White, Pearl Motif (white with white floral pattern) and Mineral Motif (white with grey floral pattern).

Admittedly, we are a little confused by the fact that the lanterns require a AAA rechargeable battery. I guess they're not entirely solar powered? Hmm.

Each lantern is $39.99 and available at Allsop Home & Garden.
The solar-panels recharge the battery during the day so it lights up at night when the sensor notices that it's dark out. Works just like most other outdoor solar lamps, these are just a lot prettier than the ones you stab into the ground along your front walk.

Lets look at this for a moment..
a solar lantern turns on when? why would the solar panels not work at that time? since the answer to those two are obvious now, why would you need a rechargeable battery?
Bingo!
