Wind-lit: Solar

unplggd030708-pingmag.jpgIn same vein as the recent Solar and Wind Photovoltaic ‘Leaves’ post, the Wind-lit: Solar lights also harness solar and wind energy and provide outdoor illumination...

05_madowindlit_03.jpgLiving World’s designers Yoshiaki Nishimura and Tariho Nishimura created the Wind-lit: Solar concept as a way "of expressing wind, which has always existed, by creating objects that sway and light up when the wind blows." Even in the photos, the effect seems less electronic and more naturalistic, the warmth reminding us of fireflies.

Currently, it doesn't seem like Living World has plans to manufacture their concept for mass production, but you can learn more about the Wind-lit: Solar and other concept here.

I would love to be able to buy these. I love string lights, especially outside in a garden but they aren't very "green" so I've given them up for now.
