Look!: A Makeshift Hammock

20080827hammock3.jpgThis restful scene is located in Tobacco Caye, a small island off the mainland coast of Belize. There's no REI on the island nor do we think Amazon delivers so the locals must often be creative with their materials.

This extra-wide hammock is made entirely from Sunkist produce bags. The bags were cut open and stitched together. The "fabric" was then wrapped around two large wooden dowels to help keep the hammock shape. Lastly, holes were drilled through the dowels and a sturdy rope was used to hang the nap machine.

And speaking of naps...
