Look! A New Leger Wanaselja House in Berkeley

6-14-2009legerhouse.jpg

We snapped this photo during a leisurely bike ride through our neighborhood yesterday afternoon. The not-quite-finished house stopped us in our tracks. The architects, Leger Wanaselja, are responsible for some of our favorite green buildings/homes, including Dwight Way and Container House ...

We haven't been able to get many details on the house yet — we checked the Leger Wanaselja website and couldn't find any info. But we'll keep digging and hopefully we'll have an update on the home in the future.

In the meantime, we'll keep our eye on the progress. We love how the two-story house looks almost like a houseboat marooned on top of a modern one-story bungalow. And we're pretty sure that the overhang that shades the second-floor balcony is made from salvaged car windows (Leger Wanaselja often use car parts to great success).

Consider us totally intrigued.

Where is Berkeley is this? I live in the area and I'd like to walk by and have a look.
