Look! Chaba Coasters

11-15-2007coasters.jpgWe finally found coasters. And, it only took three months. While browsing a local green gift store a couple weekends ago, we spied these Chaba coasters ($27) and happily nabbed them.

The coasters are made out of recycled wood, which is great; however, the biggest selling point, as far as we are concerned, is their obvious durability. These blocks of wood, unlike the plastic or cardboard coasters we've cycled through over the years, aren't going anywhere anytime soon.

In our college years we made coasters out of old, obscure CDs -- but we were going for something a bit more refined this time around. And, at $27 for a set of 4, these were in the same price range (if not cheaper) than most of the other coasters we've looked at over the past few months.

We also really liked the looks of them -- and that never hurts!

Have you come up with any unique DIY coasters that put our Chabas to shame?

The coasters are nice, but it's the coffee mug I love.
