Old windows gave a new look to this home we spotted in Portland, Maine. It’s an interesting way to create more privacy, especially for a house located on a busy road.

We’re storing a number of old windows in our basement, so we’re always on the lookout for a good idea on how to reuse them. We especially liked the way the owners installed two windows opposite each other to create separate apartment entrances.
These seemed to have a healthy coat of sawdust, so perhaps they’re a work-in-progress. We’re curious about the owners’ plans. Maybe they'll paint them? We have a trip planned to Portland in a few weeks, so we’ll let you know how they turn out!

This doesn't look so hot. I live on a busy street - we have to sweep filth/car exhaust off the siding every so often. I have to wonder how clean those windows will be in a few months.
Also, as a very clumsy person, I can see myself breaking my porch railing and possibly getting hurt on broken glass.
