Look! Functional Garden Sculpture
by Jane Hutton and Adrian Blackwell

8-20-2009hammock.jpgImagine walking into your backyard and climbing up onto a hammock that is suspended beautifully over your herb garden? That's sort of what's going on with Jane Hutton and Adrian Blackwell's art installation, Dymaxion Sleeps.

It reminds us of those spider web-type jungle gyms we used to climb around on at the park when we were kids.

Dymaxion Sleeps was built for this year's International Garden Festival at Jardins de Métis/Reford Gardens. But we could imagine it in our own backyard.

We'd love to fall asleep on it with a book, with the faint smell of lavender and other herbs wafting up from below.
