Hongtao Zhou is an artist/designer at the University of Wisconsin at Madison. His recent work was the creation of icy furniture on the frozen Lake Mendota near the UW-Madison Memorial Union Terrace shoreline. Zhou hopes his "climate furniture" will help raise awareness of sustainable design with little or no negative environmental impact. And these beautiful ice sculptures certainly fit that bill. When it gets a little warmer, they will simply melt away and become part of the lake again.
