Earlier this afternoon, the ribbon was cut on this year's showhouse (you might remember Michelle Kaufmann's mkLotus from last year) and attendees started swarming like kids into a candy shop.

Earlier this afternoon, the ribbon was cut on this year's showhouse (you might remember Michelle Kaufmann's mkLotus from last year) and attendees started swarming like kids into a candy shop.
The 1,700 sq-foot home is constructed out of reused shipping containers and it was built right on the tradeshow floor -- inside the San Jose Convention Center.

There's an amazing dearth of information on the house itself, apart from the fact that it's made of shipping containers and contains whirlpool appliances. Makes you wonder just how green it really is...
