It's not a bad idea, either, if you have kids. If everything dangerous goes in the trunk, all you have to do is pop a lock on it and you can rest assured that junior is not going to make a delicious beverage out of that 8-year old bottle of drain cleaner you forgot under the guest bathroom sink.

An important note for those in more extreme climates: most household stuff can tolerate freezing temperatures, but double check the label to make sure. And keep the box out of direct sunlight, especially if you keep aerosol cans inside, to prevent excess heat from building up.
