Look! Used Windchimes and Chandeliers, Given New Lives

11_6_08_windchime.jpgThe photo yesterday of Jessica Alba's home reminded us so much of a home near and dear to us, that we just had to share these garden creations with you.

See the chandelier and get the low-down after the jump...

11_6_08_chandelier.jpgBoth the windchime and the chandelier came from the local thrift store, and were dressed up with found objects (most of which came from the same shop). All of the items on the windchime lived previous lives: an antique key, heart-shaped trinkets from an old pair of earrings, heart-shaped links that were once worn as a bracelet, and beads from various crafting adventures over the years.

As for the chandelier, the simple draping of faux-crystal beads (an old Christmas tree garland) adds a romantic touch.

These dressed-up thrift store finds make beautiful additions to the garden. Don't be afraid to put some of your random collections to work.

Both these creations have a happy home in my mother's (The Queen of Reuse, one might call her) thriving garden.
