Sadly, it seems Hilton's plan is more than a bit off-base. We can't say we're surprised.

We're a bit frustrated by the focus on gas prices; sure, they're a lot more visible, but last time we checked, our home energy bills are going through the roof. We'd like to see more attention given to easing our home energy bills. But rather than producing more natural gas or cutting prices on electricity, the green way to accomplish the same end would be to promote conservation, both at home and on the road.

High gas prices do hurt those of us with cars. However, the price of gas has decreased the number of miles driven in the US, that means fewer carbon dioxide emissions. A bit of insulation could go a long way towards reducing energy use, and we think that should be a central part of any energy plan. And maybe it's not even as glamorous as a cardigan, but it would work.
