Check It Out! No Impact Man Documentary Opens Soon

He's coming for you: No Impact Man Colin Beavan has a new book that hits shelves today, and a documentary coming out September 11th all about — you guessed it — his one year experiment to make no garbage, turn off the electricity, and "become a walking, bicycling, composting, tree hugging, polar bear saving, local food-eating citizen." You may have read his blog, but now you get to see it all firsthand, and here's a little preview clip of what's to come...

The documentary particularly focuses on Colin's wife, Michelle Conlin — a designer-clothes loving, caffeine-addicted working Manhattan woman — and the change she undergoes as the year progresses. What starts out as merely support for her husband's project turns out to have a real, er, impact on her life. We think it's a compelling point: that anyone, no matter how tied to their daily habits and routines, can learn to live a little lighter — and realize they're no worse off for it! In fact, they're far better.

The documentary opens in theaters September 11.
