Discover's Biodegradable Credit Card

022509biopvccard.jpegEvery one you've ever had is still around (albeit in tiny, scissored pieces), but hopefully that's changing with this introduction...

We first heard about the new card in Laura Shin's Green Inc. post, so we went over to check out Discover's site.

It's a pretty good idea--and pretty sad when you think about that, in the past, the tiny piece of plastic outlasts you.

The new card is made by a company called, BIOPVC, which says the cards break down when exposed to microorganisms. When my credit card gets close to the next expiration date, we're going to look into switching over!
