Thin Flats Eco Housing by Onion Flats and Plumbob

030209onionflats.jpgThis could be the first Leed Platinum project in Pennsylvania. The developer, a trio of brothers, including an architect, a real estate agent, and a plumber, have applied for the USGBC's highest certification.

 
 

"The development is expected to use 60% less energy, 50% less water, and divert 60% of construction waste from landfills," according to the article at Jetson Green.

Other factors include Concrete with 25% fly ash, rooftop solar thermals that provide all the hot water for the units, and rainwater cistern for landscaping use. The housing contains 8 units with prices starting at $549,000.
