Branch

8_7_2007-branch_header_left.gif We're not quite sure how we stumbled across it, but Branch is a fantastic resource.

8_7_2007-mio_haute_teapot_LRG.jpgAlong with the requisite West Elm-style supergraphics, there's a wide selection of handmade products that caught our eye. And a quick read through the about us page explains exactly why the products offered are so consistently well-designed and green: co-founder #1 has an impressive background in design; co-founder #2 worked, among other places, at Greenpeace. No greenwashing here!

We're particularly smitten by a few things, including:

This lamp of handblown glass, a witty comment on the bird motif that we've been seeing virtually everywhere. Beautiful irony at $525 and up.

8_7_2007-josh_eggflat_situ_LRG.jpg

A pleasingly tactile container for your landing strip, made of recycled industrial felt. Somehow, this thing folds flat. We've seen Josh's bags before and were very impressed... it's great to see a product for the home. $54

• Hiroko Kurihara designed this blanket, which is manufactured in the East Bay area of California. For each blanket purchased, a blanket made of recycled polyfleece is given to local charitable organizations. $360
