goldfixe, do you have a Bed, Bath and Beyond near you? I was in one just the other day and they had a mandoline for $19.99. I didn't look closely at it and I don't remember the brand, but you might want to take a look. Ross and TJ Maxx also seem to frequently have them.

And, by the way, I am just ridiculously proud of having my comment chosen. I would like to thank all the little people . . . .
