Okay, so there are a lot of great reusable bags out there. But sometimes you need something above and beyond just a bag – maybe you need a vented produce bag, or a insulated bag to keep your frozen foods cold during your commute – well we finally found a company whose making kits to assist your whole shopping experience…
We really like this, because if you’re trying to live as sustainable as possible, than you’re probably walking, biking, or taking some type of mass transit to and from the grocery store. We like The Cool Kit ($49.99) the best as it provides everything you would need for your commute: two mesh produce bags, a multi-use tote, an insulated bag and a carry-all bag. BlueAvocado’s gro-pak was even recently featured by Real Simple as the ‘Smartest System’ of reusable bags.

All the bags are self-folding. The smaller bags fold-up neatly to easily fit inside the gro-pak.
The BlueAvocado bags come in multiple colors and great designs. Prices start at $7.99 for 2 produce bags and goes up to $99.99 for the double kit (11 bags including the chil and carry-all types).
Available at Grasshopper 510 and at BlueAvocado's website.
I just dropped by my grocery store to pick up ingredients for a specific dinner this weekend. I bring cloth bags with me every time, but I find that this specific grocery store puts my packaged meat in a plastic bag "just in case the meat leaks".
This kinda makes sense, but isn't there a better option than one of their plastic bags? The reason I go through the effort of bringing cloth bags is so I don't have ANY extra plastic bags in my apartment. Can you wash raw meat stains from cloth bags?
Anybody have any suggestions?
