If you've been hunting for wall-mounted, closed storage for the kitchen, Toronto-based Urban Product might have just the design for you. They've come up with Kitschin, an ingenious little storage bin that reuses something that might otherwise have ended up in a landfill...

Urban Product's Kitschin series salvages the plastic storage bins from old refrigerators. Wood cases are then crafted to fit around them. Designs vary: one unit has rails for hanging pots and pans, another has an ice drawer mounted to the bottom that pulls out and could store flatware, and rare earth magnets are set into the wood for knife storage. This could be just the right storage solution for some small kitchens.

THAT is a sweet idea. These could be really fun in a dining room also. Imagine a row of five along a wall with candle holders on top. Then you could put table linens, or less-used entertaning gear in the drawers.
