Eco-Friendly Painting Tools

02-18-2009ecopainting.jpgWe’ve covered a lot of great eco-friendly paints, but what about the tools to paint with? You know, rollers, tarps, trays, etc… Just in time for February Jumpstart, Danny Seo has complied a nice list of eco-friendly products to help with your painting project, and we’ve added a few others - check them out after the jump.

Trimaco Eco Drop, $3

Trimaco Eco Drop
This tarp protects and biodegrades!

Reaves All Purpose Cotton Drop Sheet
This drop sheet is made of 90% post-consumer recycled content, is washable and reusable, and will decompose when discarded.

Drip Catcher
Made from non-toxic recycled beverage bottles and is 100% recycleable.

BioTray, $2

Bio Tray
These paint trays are made from recycled cardboard with a very thin layer of plastic to act as a water barrier. Danny suggests lining the tray with aluminum foil for extra durability and to extend the life of the tray. When the tray has reached the end of its life just peel off the plastic, toss into a recycling bin, and put the tray in the compost.

Whizz Green Roller

Whizz Green Roller
These paint rollers are made from recycled post-consumer water so you don’t need to feel guilty about tossing them after they’ve gotten permanently paint encrusted. Whizz also makes a Green Brush made with a bamboo handle.

Envirobrush
The disposable bristles lock into a reusable/recyclable plastic handle.

Most of these products can be found at Lowe's, Home Depot and any green building supply store such as Green Depot. Of course use the above products as many times as possible before tossing!
