Benjamin Moore Natura Paint

10-21-natura.jpgThe other day we went in search of an eco-friendly paint for our new home. We actually walked out with something brand-new -- Benjamin Moore's zero-VOC paint, Natura. In fact, the paint is so new that it's only available in California, Oregon, Washington, and Texas.

The company says that not only is Natura environmentally friendly, "It goes on smoothly and covers evenly for professional results with less effort, cleans up easily, dries to the touch in 30 minutes, and can be recoated in only one hour so you can paint in the morning and have the full use of the room by evening."

Stay tuned for our results.

I'm wondering if there are ANY cons to the low VOC paints? Does it not cover as well, or can you only get a limited color choice? Because if not then why in the hell didn't they invent these earlier? And why do we still have high VOC paints?

This paint will actually be available in Missoula, MT on the 23rd... I know this because I'm currently looking at paints and they told me at my local store.

Well here are the Cons! You can't smell it! I like the fresh paint smell myself!

Really, you give up only a little durability when you goto a no-VOC paint like Natura from Benjamin Moore Paint. Some brands you give up a lot of coverage and durability not Benjamin Moore, here's why.

Benjamin Moore's Water Borne platform; Aura, Natura, Ben, Eco-Spec work on a Water Borne Colorant with what they call Color Lock technology. This allows the paint to dry with the colorant locked in the resin not between the resin like most manufactures. Anyway, a very good paint product from Benjamin Moore.
