When it comes to greening our home, we make sure our dog Fin is in on the sustainable choices, too. So she eats all-natural dog food, gets organic treats, chews on toys that are made to last, and walks at the end of this great leash.

Unlike the usual nylon leashes, this eco-friendly hemp leash feels soft and worn-in from day one. The handle is lined with fleece, giving it an ultra-comfy grip for long hikes, walks around the block, or an easy early-morning jog. Plus, the whole thing is washable!
My hem EarthDog harnesses are falling apart; my dogs are rough on them! I wonder if these will hold up better.
Either way, I love hemp for my dogs.
Please share about the dog food. I'm interested in making a switch.

I bought a Planet Dog Hemp Collar for my pup a little more than a year ago - and it's still going strong! It has become much more soft with wear, but just as strong as when I bought it. Love that website :)

Amber,
I work with dogs and own an eco pet business..... what are you feeding your dogs now? There are tons of great alternatives out there but it depends on the specific needs of your individual pet.
:-)
I feed my girl a mix of Nature's Variety frozen raw...switching up the protein sources to help round out her nutritional intake....sometimes venison or rabbit, sometimes lamb or beef. She doesn't love poultry so we avoid this except for occasional meal of all natural chicken livers as an extra special meal with some roasted broccoli, squash, carrot, quinoa and fish oil.
I find she just does better on a home prepared or N.V. raw diet. However, Orijen is amazing and one of my faves, Honest Kitchen, Before Grain.....
Let me know if I can help you make the switch by guiding you a bit.

Re: theambershow: We feed Fin an all-natural venison and brown rice blend. She's SUPER sensitive so she's got to stick with a single protein. For treats, we feed Mother Nature Natural Dog Biscuits. The ingredient list is short and sweet, and the treats smell so good (especially the Carrot Cake) that I'm oh-so-tempted to eat 'em too.
Re: GreenDragon: We've had this Planet Dog leash for about 10 months now--and it's withstood the hiking trail, the farm, and even being dragged through the parking lot multiple times. Hope you have better luck with this product! As for collars, we always try to find the ones that have metal buckles and reinforcements.
