Green Gift Wrapping: Divine Twine

There are plenty of green ways to wrap gifts, but whether you use a brown paper bag, a tea towel, or a reusable gift bag, you'll still need something to tie it all up with — and regular ol' twine doesn't exactly scream special occasion. That's why we really love the colorful Divine Twine from Whisker Graphics. Available in 5 colors, each 240-yard Divine Twine bolt is made in the USA of 100% cotton, wound on a cardboard tube, and is completely biodegradable.

Each bolt is $15, and considering how many times you can probably reuse one string of twine, will probably last you forever! Perfect for gift wrapping, crafts projects, wedding favors, and product packaging — the options are endless! The colors available include aqua, green apple, lemon, orange and licorice.

Love this. For our holiday cards this year, we're doing simple letterpressed brown paper postcards with baker's twine wrapped around them like a present, then sending off to post in white vellum envelopes.

I love twine, my family has always used it as "ribbon". Another interesting alternative is the finished edge you cut off of fabric before you "hem" it. My mom just helped us finish our curtains and suggested the lovely remnents would be a nice ribbon. They looked very nice on her birthday present...

This is also known as baker's twine. I picked up some red and white for this season's wrapping.
