Green Theme: Armand Diradourian Pillows

2007-11-14-gr.jpg

Luxe pillows with a green message. Armand Diradourian teamed up with Barneys New York for this series of pillows with an eco theme. Yes, green is groovy, to say the least (links and prices below)...

And above the jump, Green is Groovy in Chocolate.

Made from cashmere, the pillows are $199. each, only at Barneys.

So are the materials used to make the pillows green? Or is it just the message that matters? Just curious.

Barney's is brilliant -- there they are, openly, unapologetically, basing their holiday marketing on the assumption that "green" is a trend driven by people who find math and science incomprehensible, but who'll pay top dollar for the feeling of superiority that comes from identifying themselves with "green" slogans on products that aren't particularly green. I love the audacity of it.

Of course, a product like this would never be promoted on a well-informed, critically thinking site like AT:Green... wha?... you mean?... oh.
