Knitted Ferns and Fiddleheads by Keep It Moving Design

fernopener102908.jpgThese handmade knitted trees by local independent designer Kim caught our eye at the local Brooklyn Fea last weekend. If you're like Jonathan, and need a little help remembering to water your plants, it might be just your new kitchen table centerpiece.

Twenty-eight year old Kim Hamlin is a knitting fanatic. (Get it? KIM= Keep It Moving.) You can check out her etsy shop here, though the ferns are so far only available at the Flea. Our boyfriend's gone through two bonsai trees, so we're considering one of these as an upcoming X-mas present. They'd also be terrific on a desk at work, since our former, sad little cubicle was deprived of natural light. Plus, we love that they come in eclectic vintage pots and thrift store dishes.

These are so lovely. I really hope a big box store doesn't steal her idea.

I'm not much for fake plants, but the fiddleheads amuse me. And I love the vintage dishes.
